Attorney Gary B. Allison has more than 35 years of legal experience. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a prosecutor for the Commonwealth Attorney's office, Virginia Beach, from 1976 to 1983. In this role, Mr. Allison worked daily in the courtroom. This experience enables him to work within the system to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.
Because prosecutors handle a high-volume caseload and gain considerable trial experience, every year spent as a prosecutor equals several years of private practice. A prosecutor may handle more criminal trials in one month than some attorneys handle in a year. With more than 35 years of experience, including several as a prosecutor, Mr. Allison offers a high level of experience and expertise to each of his valued clients.
In addition to his background as a prosecutor, Mr. Allison has an accounting degree, worked with certified public accounting firms, and taught business law, accounting and finance as an adjunct professor at Tidewater Community College. Mr. Allison's business and accounting background can provide a tremendous advantage in divorce and family law cases in which property division, spousal support (alimony) or child support are disputed.
